Galveston Bachelorette Party – Part One of Three

09/07/2016 By Heather 3 Comments

This past Labor Day weekend, I hosted a bachelorette party in Galveston, TX for my friend, Connie.  She’s getting married in a little over 50 days, so what better way to celebrate the bride-to-be than with a bachelorette weekend getaway!

First on the to do list were the invitations!  I wanted to design something fun and modern, so that it also matched her wedding.  I designed the front of the invitation using a couple of caricatures that resembled the bride and groom, and my mom helped me come up with the cute poem.  She is so good with rhymes!  And I have to say, the bride and groom caricatures actually kind of look like Connie and Yung!

For the back of the invitation, I really wanted to make it very modern with a fun layout and unique fonts.

I also included an insert card with a few extra details for the event as well as how to RSVP.  I used  www.rsvpify.com to keep track of the RSVPs, and it was really great feature.  I was able to upload my own photos and use the same colors that matched the invitation.  I really loved the flexibility of the website, and it was extremely easy to use.  I highly recommend it and will probably use it again for my next event!

I can’t tell you how long I worked on these invitations, but in the end, I thought they turned out pretty cute for the event, and they’re totally unique!  I don’t have plans to sell this design in the future, so Connie, you have a one-of-a-kind invitation!  🙂

One of the hardest things about planning a bachelorette party out of town is not really knowing what all there is to do.  It’s pretty difficult if you’ve never been there, or in my case, haven’t been there in many, many years, so it required hours upon hours of research, gathering ideas and planning all of the fun.

We rented a house through Airbnb, which was my first house rental experience, and it turned out great.  It was a little odd at first just arriving at a stranger’s house, but I soon got settled in and started decorating.  As you know, I love decorating, so I pretty much went all out.  I wanted to make sure she felt special during her weekend celebration.

Check in tomorrow for Part Two of this three part series to see the decorations, stellar favor bags (if I say so myself) and what all we did while we were in Galveston for the weekend.

The invitations were so beautiful. I think everyone’s favorite part were the cute caricatures 🙂
