Christmas is my absolute favorite holiday. I love the lights, the music, the movies, family celebrations, and of course, the real reason why we have Christmas. Decorating for the holiday seems to begin earlier and earlier every year. I think this year I took out the decorations from the Christmas closet in late October in order to get a head start.
First of all, yes, I have a closet dedicated to just Christmas decorations. It’s a room under our stairs, and it’s way too small, so there’s Christmas stuff scattered in other rooms too. All of the trees are stored upstairs in our bonus room, so anytime I missing Christmas, I just have to head upstairs to see all of the glitter and trees. Secondly, I know I put it out early, but it takes forever it seems to get the stairs decorated and the mantle and the tables and then all of the trees, so I have to start early so I can enjoy it for a while. Don’t judge. 🙂 HAHA!
Christmas movies are my absolute favorite, and I try to watch as many as possible. The ones on the Hallmark Channel get me every time. I just LOVE them! Lifetime has some as well, and the UP channel does too, but my favorites are on the Hallmark Channel. I typically watch the same ones over and over throughout the season. They’re just the best.
My all-time favorite Christmas move is the remake of Miracle on 34th Street, and this past December we went to New York and saw the “Believe” sign at Macy’s. It just made me smile SO big to see it in real life. It’s the little things, you know? I don’t think I really have a favorite Christmas song because I really love a lot of them, but there are a few I don’t care for as much (Santa Baby and Jingle Bell Rock).
For 2016, I’m hoping to not buy very many new things; otherwise, people are going to think I’m crazy. I have a TON of stuff, and I probably have a ton of stuff I don’t even remember I purchased, so I really don’t need to buy anything new for a while. We’ll see if that happens though.
