Oh, hello! I can’t believe 2017 is already a third over. Can you believe it? Time is flying by so, so quickly these days. Seriously, I think it keeps going by faster and faster. Slow down, already!
It is raining like crazy today, which means I get to lounge around and not worry about going for my daily exercise walk in the afternoon. I’ve been feeling a bit under the weather for the past few days, so I think I’ll enjoy this relaxing day and listen to the rain hit the tin roof over our patio all while laying in my pjs on the couch. Sounds fun, right?
These past few weeks have been a bit busy, so I haven’t blogged as much, but I’m hoping to get started on a weekly routine soon. I co-hosted a baby shower over the weekend, and I hope to share a few details from it in the next few days, but until then, here’s some ramblings on a rainy day:
- My current favorite song is “She Sets the City on Fire” by Gavin Degraw. Have you heard it? It’s my jam! I love, love, love it! It’s an instant pick-me-up. I totally brightens my mood every time I hear it.
- I look at houses for sale every day in our city. It’s a terrible habit, so don’t do it, okay? Anyways, I saw one the other day that I really, really liked. It doesn’t have everything I want (I really doubt any house is ever going to be perfect), but goodness, it’s beautiful! We aren’t planning to move anytime soon, but it did make me wish a little bit that we were wanting to! I love the kitchen, especially all of the extra touches of molding, the empty island, and the white cabinets. Those light fixtures are too wimpy though and would be the first thing to go if I moved in. 😉
- I’ve been trying to count calories and stick to my diet like crazy lately. I’m really trying to shed these last 15-20 pounds, but man is it work! I wonder why it’s so easy to gain, but oh so hard to lose it. It’s very frustrating, but I’m trying to stick with it. Fingers crossed I get to my goal weight soon.
- I have a lot of concerts to look forward to so far this year. I’ll be seeing Train in just a few weeks. Then there’s Metallica (which Jacob), Matchbox 20 and Counting Crows, Needtobreathe and Gavin Degraw, and I’d really like to see Bruno Mars and Ed Sheeran, but both of those tickets are extremely pricey just for resale. Maybe the price will go down closer to the event? I hope so! We’ll also be seeing Jim Gaffigan in November (the original date was cancelled due to a family emergency), so we’ll spend the whole weekend in New Orleans, so we can take in a Saints game as well. I’m really looking forward to all of our fun little weekend events we have planned. No big trips **yet** but I’m hoping we can take another vacation sometime soon. Speaking of trips, I need to blog about our Colorado vacation. It was only 2 months ago. 😉 I kind of wish I would have purchased tickets for John Mayer. Maybe I should look into those as well!
Thanks for reading my random, rainy day thoughts!
It sounds like a perfect rainy day! And I love that house. That kitchen and bathroom! Wow! Lots of fun events planned. Looking forward to them is part of the fun, I think!
