You know the saying. I’m hoping that it’s true! We just spent about $175 or so on new flowers for the flower beds (not including new mulch as well), so I really hope there will be lots of rain, so the flowers grow and get big this year.
I absolutely love flowers! I try to have fresh flowers in my house most of the time. Not always, but most of the time there’s a bouquet somewhere. They’re one of the easiest things that can brighten a bad day, and the flowers outside are no exception. I always plant flowers in the front of our house, but I don’t always water. Did you know that flowers need water to survive? HA! I’m going to try to do much better this year, but you know how that goes, right?!
I bought a lot, but this year I tried really hard to be more thrifty and buy perennials. Almost everything I picked up was perennials with the exception of some ‘Mexican Heather’ because I mean, my name is Heather, so we should probably have some right? Right!
My mom and I hit up all of the local stores in our area and made lots of purchases. I’m so glad we were able to keep those stores open another day. 😉 Anyways, my mom helped me plant all of my flowers, and I helped her with hers as well. Yay for teamwork! It always makes it go by so much faster when there’s someone else helping to do all of the dirty work.
Now we just have to sit back, relax a little (but make sure and water), and then wait for those April showers to bring some May flowers! So far, it hasn’t been doing much raining, but I do think most of the flowers are still alive. Fingers crossed they make it through this month. 😉 Do you do any new landscaping during Spring? What’s your routine?
