The first week into 2017 is complete! How are you resolutions going? I’m trying to keep up with me, which you can read about all of them here. This year I really want to embrace the little things, like going out on date nights, enjoying the movies, etc. So this weekend, I saw 2 movies in one day!
First up was La La Land with my mom.
La La Land‘s two main characters are played by Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling. I honestly did not really know what the movie was about, but I did know that it had musical parts, so I wasn’t really sure what to expect, especially since musicals are not really my favorite. I know what you’re thinking? If you don’t love musicals, then why did you go see this movie? Well! I had read SO many great reviews about the movie, and I just knew it would be a contender this awards season, so I just needed to see it for myself. Emma and Ryan (we’re on a first name basis these days) had amazing chemistry! Seriously! They are both so adorable, and I would definitely want to be friends with them in real life. 😉 Overall, the movie was good. I felt myself get a little bored at times when it seemed like they dragged out certain parts. BUT with that said, I would not be surprised if it won a ton of awards. It was cute, had lots of funny little moments, and it did not end the way most movies end. Go see it for yourself, especially if you love musicals! I think you’ll love it if you’re into those for sure.
Next up, Jacob and I went to see Why Him?
We’ve been trying to see this movie for 3 weeks now, and it finally worked out with our schedule. Yay! Okay, first of all, it is so hard to separate Bryan Cranston from his Breaking Bad character, but I tried my best to not think in the back of my head that he was still Mr. White. James Franco played the crazy, strange boyfriend part well. He’s a bit strange in real life, so I’m sure this character was right up his alley. 😉 I actually really liked this movie. There were a ton of funny moments. Of course, some of it was definitely some dirty humor, but it was actually really funny, and I found myself laughing out loud a lot, which hasn’t happened in quite some time at the movies. I’m looking at you Sausage Party, which in my opinion was the worst movie I’ve ever seen. Anyways, if you haven’t seen Why Him?, it was pretty funny, and you should check it out for a few good laughs! It also doesn’t end as predictable as most movies these days. Oh, and if you remember Karen from Will and Grace, she’s the mom in the movie!!
I really love going to the movies, but my goodness, after this weekend, I’m not sure how many more I’ll want to venture out to see during the primetime movie nights. People are really weird and obnoxious. HA! They’re loud, noisy, rude and kind of gross. Let me explain: people constantly talk throughout the movie. I really don’t understand why they can’t whisper if they just have to talk. It’s so distracting! I won’t even get started on the cellphone problems. Also, during our Why Him? movie adventure, I looked to the right, and the people sitting next to Jacob were sharing popcorn. Seems normal, right? Well, one person was eating out the bag as normal, and the other person had poured their popcorn on the food tray and was literally eating it off of the tray. There was no napkin underneath their popcorn!! That’s so nasty! Please don’t do this. Germs are everywhere. I’ve apparently become a little bit of a germophobe lately, but seriously, that’s so so so so gross!
Do you have any weird movie stories to share? I don’t know why but the weird/loud people always end up sitting next to us. Whether it’s at the movies or a sporting event… it never fails! Ha! Oh, and just to let you know, I saw those two movies at different theaters, so it’s not like one is where the weird/noisy people go. Nope. They were at both!
Share your funny/gross movie stories in the comments! I’d love to feel better and know that these weird things don’t just happen to us. 😉
